McDowell Mountain Ranch, Arizona

We bought a house. Curb appeal was pretty good (needed a little bit of love, which we could and would provide). Walking through the front door was like entering a time capsule from the year 2000………honey oak cabinets throughout, tiny island in the kitchen with a peninsula, granite busy countertops, a kitchen desk, multiple floor coverings, a small shower in the master bath with a monstrosity of a “jet” tub, culminating with a floor and ceiling medallion in the front hallway. Every room was closed off, dark and dated

Where to start? We called in Grand Canyon Home Supply with their deep home remodel knowledge and superb team experience. The designer took measurements and created a new, brighter, more open feeling throughout.
Demo began, straightening some walls, removing others (including the circular medallions in the hallway) and all flooring. The biggest game changer is to install all of the same flooring in each and every room (other than baths). This was handled by installing a lighter Eternity Flooring LVP (luxury vinyl plank) throughout the house. Waypoint white shaker cabinets were installed on the perimeter in the kitchen and a Waypoint maple slate, flat-panel door, 10 foot island! Lighter Arista quartz countertops were installed. The kitchen desk was turned into a bar with a wine fridge.
In the master bath, a “wet room” was created by tearing out the shower enclosure and jet tub space-sucking eyesore, replacing it with a stand-alone tub, larger format Emser tile, and a huge, glassed-in, curbless shower.
To further open the spaces up and bring the outdoors in, a 14-foot arcadia door was installed, removing the typical 8-foot-tall sliding patio door.
Let there be light!
